Please take a look at our practical techniques for bringing back the original color of your beloved faded clothing.

RESTORING BRIGHTNESS WITH SALT

Put the faded clothes and add proper detergent in your washing machine.
Your clothes seem to have faded after just several washes, the culprit
may be detergent accumulation. Adding some salt into a regular wash will
help break up that buildup.

Pour a half-cup (150 grams) of salt upper single wash. Once
you’ve put your clothes and washing detergent in the machine, add about
a half cup of salt per one wash. Moreover, to renewing colors, it will
also help block the fading on the new clothes in the first place.

  • Just add some salt to every load of laundry
  • A
regular table or ultra-fine pickling salts does the same job, but make
sure it’s not coarse-ground sea salt, it will not dissolve entirely in
    the machine.
  • Salt is also a powerful stain remover, particularly on mildew, blood and sweat stains.

Dry the clothes regularly.

when
your clothes are done the washing, pull them out and check their color.
If you like the results, you can dry them regularly as you do all the
time. If the clothes still look faded, then try washing them in vinegar,
instead. You will have to redye the clothes if the color has worn out
over time.

Using Vinegar to Remove
Detergent Buildup

Put half-cup (120 mL) of white
vinegar to the washing machine.  You can add vinegar directly into the
drum if you have a top-loading
machine. Or you can put it to
the fabric softener tray if you have a front-loading washer. The vinegar
helps in breaking up all detergent or minerals remain behind by solid
water, so the clothes will seem brighter.

The vinegar will also
block the buildup in the first place, so it’s a perfect way to keep the
clothes color-fast while they’re still new.

Pro Tip:

For
a more powerful clean, you can also reduce 1 cup approximate 250
milliliters of white vinegar in 1 gallon of hot water. Set them all
together and soak in the white vinegar mixture for approximate 20-30
minutes ahead washing regularly.

Wash the clothes in cold water on a normal cycle.

Put
the faded clothes into the washing machine, add some detergent, and
start the machine wash. In many situations, soaking the clothes in
vinegar and later washing them is all it will take to get them to look
brighter.

Choose the session that’s suitable for the clothes
you’re lightening. For example, if you’re washing items made of
sensitive material like lace or silk, you’d need to use a soft wash. For
more long-lasting fabrics like cotton or denim, a regular wash is just
fine.

Place them in the dryer or dry your clothes outside.

The vinegar will wash out of the clothing while rinsing period. So the laundry will not smell like vinegar when
taken out of the machine. If the clothes are still faded, the color
might have worn out, so you will need to color the clothes.
